HAVE YOUR SAY - REVIEW OF BELLINGEN SHIRE COUNCIL’S PROCUREMENT POLICY FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES

The Bellingen Shire Council Procurement Policy was adopted in 2010 and an addition to that policy – the ‘Local Preference Policy’ was adopted in 2014 allowing Council to provide preference to Bellingen Shire based businesses when procuring goods and/or services. Both policies are due for review and Council wishes to engage the broader community of the Shire in the review of the Local Preference Policy. A Citizens' Panel comprised of a suitable cross-section of the community will be established to meet, consider and recommend the extent to which Council should provide procurement preferences to local businesses. Members of the Citizens' Panel will be selected from the pool of people who have registered on (this) Create website. If you would like to be considered for inclusion, please ensure you register by 22 August 2017.

There will also be opportunity for community members who wish to have a say on this matter but do not wish to participate in the Citizens' Panel to provide feedback following the Citizens' Policy process.
