Background

Bellingen Shire Council seeks to ensure the public's safety by providing a system of safe well maintained local roads and bridges.

Following the completion of the Timber Bridge Assessment Project, Council now has detailed reports on the condition and structural capacity of all timber bridges across the Shire. Upon review of these reports, it is essential that Council undertake an urgent risk minimisation approach that will include both repairs, replacements and the application of load limits.
