BUSH FIRE RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE GRANTS NOW CLOSED at https://bellingen.grantplatform.com/

Bellingen Council is pleased to announce that the Bushfire Recovery and Resilience Grants CLOSED in November 2020 - with thanks for the over 100 applications requesting over $900K of grants. The Program saw three streams of grant funding available to the community including the Get Ready Grants, Get Together Grants and Assist and Empower Grants.

The Guidelines are available to download from the 'Documents' section of the webpage. Applications are made through the Good Grants online grant management system which you can access via https://bellingen.grantplatform.com/ or at this link - Bush Fire Recovery and Resilience Grants . Applications will remain open until Sunday 22 November at 11.59pm.

The Bushfire Recovery & Resilience Grants have been made possible due to funding from the Federal Government in response to the 2019/20 bushfire season.

These Public Grants form part of the overall Bushfire Recovery & Resilience Program of works totaling $1.5M. The Grants, across the 3 schemes, makes up $465k of the total budget.

Council, as administrator of this funding, is providing the broader community with the opportunity to seek funding through the newly established Grants. There are three grant schemes as follows:

  • Get Ready Grants – grants of up to $10,000

Purpose: To assist the community in managing risk against bushfires and other natural disasters.

Who can apply: Registered charities/incorporated not for profit including S355 Committees, businesses, auspiced community organisations, P&Cs. Individuals may apply, however, funding will only be provided on receipt of invoices for goods purchased.


  • Get Together Grants – grants of up to $3,500

Purpose: To assist the community in effectively responding to and recovering from emergencies.

Who can apply: Chambers of Commerce, incorporated not for profits, auspiced unincorporated community organisations.


  • Assist and Empower - grants of up to $15,000

Purpose: To assist the community in enabling, empowering and supporting community resilience

Who can apply: registered charities/incorporated not for profit including S355 Committees, businesses, auspiced community organisations.

Anyone interested in applying for a grant is strongly encouraged to attend one of the following community information session:

Council is required to ensure that the information sessions adhere to all government requirements with regards to social distancing and measures will be in place to make sure we manage a safe environment for all attendees.
