Consultation has concluded
The Atherton Drive precinct, Urunga is under the management of the Bellinger Heads State Park Trust, which is jointly administered by both the NSW Department of Industry - Lands (DI-Lands) and Bellingen Shire Council.
DI-Lands together with Bellingen Shire Council require a Master Plan to guide the future use, development and management of the Atherton Drive foreshore. The area currently consists of informal public recreational area with native vegetation and limited facilities, a number of boathouses, a scout hall and a sailing club.
The aim of the Master Plan is to increase public foreshore access and enhance public recreation opportunities. The main issues for consideration include improving public access to the foreshore, uncontrolled vehicle access along the foreshore impacting an endangered ecological community, future of the remaining boathouses and unauthorised campervan camping.

Community Information Session No. 1

A community information session is planned for 22 April 2017 within the Urunga CBD to allow the community to provide input to the development of the Master Plan.

Concept redevelopment and management options have been developed following feedback from the community. The options have been uploaded to this project page to allow the community to indicate their preferences.

A community information session has been arranged for Wednesday 28 June 2017 at the Urunga Golf Club between 6-8pm to allow the community to provide input into the redevelopment and management options being considered as part of the Atherton Drive Precinct Master Plan.

A preferred concept option will be developed for inclusion in the Master Plan and will be publicly exhibited during July/ August 2017.

A further community information session will be arranged around mid July to allow the community to provide input into the preferred concept developed for the Atherton Drive Precinct Master Plan. The session would be arranged during the public exhibition period of the Master Plan. Dates are to be confirmed.
