The Community Vision

Consultation has concluded

We are reviewing our Community Vision, which identifies the main priorities and aspirations of our community, and provides a clear set of strategies for our community to achieve this vision of the future.

While Council is responsible for developing and reviewing the plan, its implementation is a shared responsibility with other partners such as State agencies and community groups.

We’re keen to actively involve the whole community in a review and update of the plan. There will be a range of opportunities for you to have your say, including:

We’re keen to actively involve the whole community in a review and update of the plan. There will be a range of opportunities for you to have your say, including:

  • Online survey - available until Friday 3 March 2017
  • Hard copy surveys will be made available at Libraries and Council's Administrative centre.
  • Focus Group Meetings in each of the towns of Dorrigo, Bellingen and Urunga. So that we can plan the venue, please let us know you are coming here.
  • Community Engagement 'Vox-Pop' sessions with business owners and community members in each town.
  • Engagement with the Shire's young people in Dorrigo and Bellingen
  • Tell your story that is relevant to the Community Vision.
  • Make a submission via the 'Have your Say' form at www.bellingen.nsw.gov.au
  • Public exhibition of draft revised plan and submission period (May 2017)

    Council at its Ordinary Meeting held on Wednesday 28 June 2017 adopted the Community Vision 2027.

    A copy can be found in the Document Library or on Council's website under Council\Reports\Policies & Plans.

  • Draft IP&R documents and draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan on public exhibition

    On 26 April 2017 Council resolved to place the following documents on public exhibition and that written submissions be invited for consideration by Council.

    · Draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2017-21

    · Draft Community Vision 2027

    · Draft Delivery Program 2017/18 – 2020/21, Operational Plan 2017/18

    · Draft 2017/17 – 2026/27 Long Term Financial Plan

    · Draft Revenue Policy, Fees & Charges Schedule 2017/18

    These draft document will be on public exhibition from Friday 28 April 2017 until 4.00pm Monday 29 May 2017 and in the document library of the Create site or hardcopies are available at Council's Administrative Centre, Hyde Street Bellingen or the Bellingen, Dorrigo and Urunga Libraries.

    Written submission regarding the documents. must be made by 4.00pm on Monday 29 May 2017 and addressed to The General Manager, Bellingen Shire Council, PO Box 117, Bellingen NSW 2454 or via email to: council@bellingen.nsw.gov.au
