Consultation has concluded
The public consultation period has now ended. Thank you to those who wrote submissions.
Council will now review all submissions received and prepare a report with recommendations to Council at a later date. All those who made submissions on the proposal will be notified of the future report to Council. What is proposed?
A draft amendment to Council’s planning controls has been prepared to expand the range of permissible uses for land in the E4 Environmental Living Zone. The proposed amendment has been shaped by previous consultation with the community early last year.
The proposed amendment to Bellingen Local Environmental Plan 2010 seeks to:
Make the following land uses Permitted with consent in the E4 Zone:
Dual occupancy (attached)
Eco-tourist facility
Rural industry
Secondary dwelling [granny flat]
Tourist and visitor accommodation
Make the following land uses Prohibited in the E4 zone:
Backpackers accommodation
Hotel or motel accommodation
Serviced apartments
Make the following land use Exempt development in the E4 Zone (subject to a number of development standards being met):
Farm buildings
