Consultation has concluded
Council adopted the Bellingen Shire Coastal Area Koala Management Strategy in 2017. This strategy includes a number of management actions designed to ensure a permanent free living population of koalas in Bellingen Shire and to reverse the current trend of koala population decline.
To assist with the implementation of the strategy Council is establishing a Koala Advisory Group which will include representatives from both Local and State Government and members of the community.
Expressions of interest from community members wishing to be a part of the Koala Working Group are being sought. If you think that you have particular skills or interests that you can contribute to the Koala Advisory Group, Council would like to hear from you.
To view the terms of reference for the Koala Advisory Group and to download a nomination form for membership of the Working Group, please view the Document Library within this project.
Expressions of interest will be received until Friday 26 October 2018, with the final composition of the Advisory Group to be determined by Council at a future meeting.
