Consultation has concluded

Did you know that the Bellingen Shire has 581kms of roads in its network!

To put this in to perspective, it is 522kms from the middle of Bellingen to the Sydney CBD!

Our local roads are important assets that keep us connected to each other and the services that support our social and economic wellbeing. With 581kms of roads in our Shire, it is no surprise that it takes a lot of resources to maintain our local road network.

Council needs your support.

The Fixing Local Roads Program is again open to Councils across NSW to assist in reducing local roads maintenance costs and backlog. Bellingen Council is looking to apply for funding to assist in repairing, maintaining and sealing a number of our roads. The list of roads Council is looking to apply for in the current round include:

  • Darkwood Road
  • Gleniffer Road
  • Martells Road
  • Kalang Road
  • Smith's Lane

These roads are considered a priority and strongly align to the criteria that needs to be met for the grant applications.

How can you help?

A survey is provided below requesting feedback on these roads to support Council's applications. Should you wish to provide a letter of support for the applications, please send these to council@bellingen.nsw.gov.au..

The survey will be open until Tuesday 8 December. Any letters of support should also be received by this time.

Council was successful in receiving funding in Round 1 for Deer Vale and Northbank roads.
