Have the Gumbaynggirr people yet been consulted on this? ie the Coffs, Dorrigo and Bellingen Land Councils. 'Lookout Road' is part of an ancient aboriginal track, linking the coast (near Wenonah Headland, I believe) to the tablelands and thence to tracks up and down the Great Dividing Range. It is part of our National Heritage and should be treated as such.

Dorin Hart asked about 1 year ago

    Dear Dorin

Council was formally required to consult with the Coffs Harbour & District Local Aboriginal Council, and the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage as part of this process.

In addition to this, Council has met onsite with representatives of various Aboriginal Land Councils and other relevant stakeholders to discuss aboriginal cultural heritage.

We are yet to receive final comment from all parties, however we are now aware of the significance of the site and will ensure that every opportunity is afforded to relevant parties to register any concerns regarding this matter.
